Nyalic® is a water-clear, ultra-thin polymeric resin that seals bare metal and painted surfaces, as well as plastic surfaces. The coating forms a high-tech shield that protects for many years against moisture, oxidation, salt water and salt air that stains and corrodes boats. Nyalic is proven for a range of surfaces including aluminium, steel, stainless steel, copper, brass and bronze; anodized, galvanised and chromed metals; polished, milled or brushed finishes; painted surfaces; fibreglass and plastic; electrical and mechanical connections. Nyalic® is ideal for yachts, pleasure and work boats.

Stainless steel, brass and bronze fittings left exposed to salt water and sea air will quickly tarnish, pit or corrode. Nyalic® Marine clearcoat surface protectant kits contain the necessary cleaners and protective coating to clean and coat the fittings on your boat and the results will last for years.

Nyalic was developed for the Apollo Space Program to protect the interior surfaces of the Apollo space capsules as well as the Lunar Rover. It is a thermoplastic that lasts for years - not a wax or polish - and it never requires buffing. Nyalic is thermally stable to 177 degrees C (350 deg F) and flexes without cracking well below zero degrees. It is highly UV resistant so it will not yellow, flake or peel when properly applied.

How do I apply Nyalic?

Full and comprehensive instructions on surface preparation and application are included in your Nyalic Marine Kit I (Touch-Up Kit). Repairs are easy, too, as Nyalic is self-levelling and blends with the existing coating.

Will Nyalic change or dull the appearance of the metal I want to coat?

After coating, mirror-finished metals won’t lose their gloss and unpainted metals look freshly polished. Nyalic prevents fingerprints and smudges on stainless steel and polished metals.

Can Nyalic be used on battery terminals and electrical and mechanical connections?

Battery terminals are often an overlooked maintenance item on your boat. Over time they can become caked in a nasty build-up of acid contaminated crude. This moist accumulation of dirt on your battery and battery terminals can cause your battery to discharge. Coating terminals with petroleum jelly or grease to prevent this build-up captures and retains dirt, slowing but not correcting the problem. However, coating with Nyalic will cure the problem. Electrical and mechanical connections exposed to corrosive elements can also be protected with Nyalic. Nyalic is a non-conductive polymer coating and perfect for the engine room. It can perform at film thicknesses as low as five microns and does not cause heat build-up.
